- Eating in very large portions when compared to the average person;

Signs of a person experiencing binge eating disorder is if he experiences the above symptoms at least 1 time per week for 3 months. In mild binge eating disorder , episodes of these symptoms usually appear 1-3 times per week. However, in severe BED, symptom episodes may occur 8–13 times per week. Whereas in very severe BED, symptom episodes occur more than 14 times per week.
If not treated properly, binge eating disorder has the potential to cause several health problems, such as type 2 diabetes , obesity, and hypertension. BED can also cause digestive problems, such as bloating and constipation, and even psychological disorders, such as anxiety disorders and depression.
